Eugenia Sarfatti in Consolo (1878-1945), sister of the lawyer Cesare Sarfatti, was a poet and playwriter. Her daughter Paola Consolo was an important painter of the twentieth century period. Known for two of her self-portraits, she was born in Venice in 1908 and became the wife of the painter and architect Gigiotti Zanini. She died in childbirth in 1933 when she was only 24 years old.
Her husband designed a simple stele in Cardoso stone with a door, a window and a triangular pediment with ing. Giuseppe Borio with whom he collaborated in that period in the Palazzo Civita in Piazza Duse 2. The epitaph recalls Eugenia’s premature death and her artistic fervor.
